Red Water was a farming area until the discovery of oil on Hilton Cook’s farm in 1948. Today, the original 45 meter Discovery Derrick rises above the town’s skyline as a historical landmark and focal point in the centre of the community.
To get your passport stamped visit the Provident Place Multi-Use Facility located next to the derrick (4944 – 53 Street) or the Redwater Museum & Tourist Information Centre (4915 – 48 Street) next to the library.
