A rancher on horseback perches on a rocky bluff surveying the lands before him. Cochrane Ranche, the site of Alberta's first large-scale ranching operation, was established in 1881. The 1/3 larger-than-life bronze sculpture, created by Malcolm "Mac" MacKenzie was erected in 1978, and pays tribute to the pioneering ranchers who had a great "vision" for Cochrane and Alberta!
