Airdrie

Korean Totem Poles

Standing in Nose Creek Park are six handcrafted Totem Poles, donated to the City of Airdrie by Gwacheon, Korea. The Totems were installed in 2007 to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the sister city relationship. Known in Korea as Jangseung or “village guardians,” totems are traditionally placed at the entrance of villages or temples. In Airdrie, they provide a one-of-a-kind landmark overlooking the events and amenities featured in the park.

To get your passport stamped visit Nose Creek Valley Museum (1701 Main Street) located near the parking lot for Nose Creek Park or Airdrie Public Library (304 Main Street, downtown Airdrie across from Towerlane shopping centre).
